Welcome to HipWilliamsburg.com (formerly CrashBrooklyn.com).
On this site, we share with you our favorite edgy spots, both old and new, that inspire us to love Williamsburg and the surrounding neighborhoods of Greenpoint and Bushwick. This area has remained hip and elastically vital, even in the face of development booms, soaring rents, and changing demographics. This curated look at North Brooklyn reflects a taste for stand-out aesthetics, authenticity, vintage charm, futurism, cultural diversity, high-brow, low-brow, and exceptional yumminess—all set to a soaring indie soundtrack. These are just starting points, and we’d love to hear your favorite places. Cheers!
Vanessa Ray – Owner, Editor, and Writer
After many years designing magazines, Vanessa switched gears to focus on travel writing—deciding that the most exciting places to cover were right in her adopted home of Williamsburg. When she’s not scouting for a new burrito place or punk rock show, she indulges her taste for horror movies, crossword puzzles, and tequila.
