Williamsburg Brooklyn Art Galleries

Williamsburg Brooklyn Art Galleries
Brooklyn’s Williamsburg has long been home to a thriving art scene. And while most artists may now be priced out of living here, the artwork they produce can be appreciated at a number of exceptional galleries. The gallery spaces range from established Williamsburg galleries like Parker’s Box, to sleek new showrooms like Reverse, to unfinished garage-like rooms, pop-up shops, and tattoo parlors.

When to Go

The best time to go is Every Second Friday of the month, when several galleries are open late with exhibit openings and special performances. These gallery receptions can take on the feel of a house party, with wine and beer available for a small donation, plenty of mingling, and sometimes a live band. Just remember to look at the art. See which galleries are participating in this month’s Second Friday at  http://every2nd.org.

Most galleries in Williamsburg are open Thursday through Sunday afternoons. Note that some galleries remain closed between exhibits; so do check the gallery site before you go.
